Revisionism of Man // Woman
Steel, e-ink screen, Raspberry Pi, Oil Paintings

Context gives imagery deeper meaning. If a simple portrait is titled in a surprising way, that added context changes the way you view the person. If the title keeps changing randomly, well, you’ll always have a new painting to look at. While this boring oil painting accompanies the info card display, you could place the display beside any portrait and constantly revise your own interpretation of it. In fact, show me a portrait, and I’ll program a display to change its meaning for you, effectively turning one portrait into hundreds.
A Raspberry Pi mini computer runs an unilluminated e-ink display inside a custom metal bracket. All the information stays the same except for the title of the piece, which cycles randomly through 100 variations.
